Getting a little bit DUNN!

So I have found the one I love.....well the font.  I have fallen in love with Rae Dunn, but since I am late to the hunt I have had to make my own.  I have been using The Skinny Bold from Dafont.  It seems to match well and I am happy with the results.

I had no idea that Rae Dunn was the in thing.  I live in Idaho and we are late to the game on everything.  Also I am not "cool" so I don't keep up with things either.  I happened across a Rae Dunn facebook page because it was suggested and it was just the design ideas that I needed.

Here are some of the things I have made using the The Skinny Bold

I bought a case of these faux burlap pillow cases from an online shop.  They were so pretty but I was a loss at what I wanted to put on them.  I didn't want to "waste" any of them.

Finally I decided to try out The Skinny!!!! Are they so cute! I have no complaints, besides I used to much pressure on these 2 but know one would even notice that but me.

After making the pillows I went through my craft room to see what else I could "Dunn up" I found some car coasters that just came in the mail.  Boom! 3 more DUNN!!

And of course if I am going to be DUNNING, My daughter kitchen has to match!
(Coffee pot from Melissa and Doug/ Bowls are Ikea)

Let me know what you have DUNN.  I would love to see what other people are making with this great font with smile words.  I have some leggings I am thinking of adding "RELAX" on the bottom.

Baseball.....or softball wreath. Easy DIY

A lot of people have been asking me how to make this wreath. I posted it on Etsy but the shipping cost were just to much to try to ship to anyone without feeling like they are paying $80 for wreath. So here is how it's made. First wreath, wire, twine and ribbon from the Dollar Tree. Grass from Hobby Lobby, balls from around the house, wood is pine board 18 inches long stained.

First start with the wreath and grass. I used green wire to strap the grass to the wreath.
I cut it into strips, 3 grasses long, I fit them in between the wreath. The wreath is the opposite way a normal wreath in order to "cup" the baseball's better
This is the grass that I use, I got it at hobby lobby in the Easter section, if it is not Easter time try calling them and using the UPC
I use a small bit to drill holes to fish the wire through, I move the bit back and forth until it is clear enough to get the wire all the way through
This is the back of the wreath all strapped down and ready to go. I try to make sure all the wires are tucked in to avoid scratching the door.
After its all wire tight I added vynil letters to the wood and a pretty bow. Tada!!
I love how they turned out, and they were simple to make.
I made my first sell on etsy. The buyer asked for softball and baseball wreath and said "do what you want"
SO I DID AND I LOVE IT!!
It was so exciting to make something for someone who loved it just as much as you did.
If you feel the need to have one of these awesome wreaths I would be happy to make one for you, just remember shipping is a little high.

Elsa basket made from Dollar store items!!!

I found the basket, white tulle, stickers, yarn and other little things at the Dollar Tree
I first I glued and wrapped the handle, I pinched the edges of the hand a little so they would stay up straight.
I made 3 long pieces and braided them around the handle
I cut the piece 6x5 inches

Next I made the skirt, I just looped and pulled like you would a tutu. I wrapped a
rubber band around the the basket and covered it with a ribbon to hold all the tulle down.  Then a added some snow flakes and tada!!

Made Anna too so Elsa wouldn't have to be alone
Sisters forever right....
Couldn't stop with just one Disney Princess
Can you guess who this is??

Soft Eddy Teddy!!!! Keepsake bear from your Baby's clothes

If you would like to order a bear rather then make one I do have an etsy shop and would be willing to do that for you.https://www.etsy.com/shop/coldwineandhotglue?ref=hdr_shop_menu
So I saw a bear online and thought it would look really good made out of my daughter's Christmas pj's.....and that is how it started.  Now I can't stop, I have moved from Christmas pjs to 4th of July and looking for more.....I think I may need an intervention!! It is a blast and all done "in the hoop" so it is so easy!!  I found the bear at http://embroidery-outlet-com.3dcartstores.com/ITH-Teddy-Eddy_p_708.html  I have a step by step pictures that I took to help if you need it.

Here is the front before I stuffed it.

Here is the Back
I used the ruffle on the butt of the pjs to make the ruffles on the bear

I made sure that I cut the fabric as close as possible to make sure I would have enough fabric to make the bear.  I just cut as close to the seam as I could.

After I took one of the larger pieces and placed it in the hoop, I sprayed it with some quilt spray to make sure it stays in place.
You can really tell unless you look close but the machine has stitched out the line for the arms
Then I take the smaller pieces and place them over the stitched out arms, I don't want to waste a large piece here because you will need that later for the belly. I placed it back in the machine and it does a final stitch of the arms.  You cut 1/4 inch seam around the stitch and turn it inside out.  Then you have the arms.  Do the same with the legs, head and ears.

Lastly you will stitch out the belly, the first it will stitch out the outline for the belly and the outline for the applique.  Remove from the hoop and place your applique fabric, put back to stitch.  Remove again and cut the fabric as close as you can to the applique stitch, place back in the machine for satin stitch.
Here to avoid having to hand stitch I placed both arms and legs inside the stitch line, held in place by a little painter tape.  Then placed the back of the bear fabric for the final stitch.
After the arms and legs are sewn in the body I turned it inside out and made small holes to stuff them then machine stitched them back with same color thread.

Hope that helps.  If you have any questions please just ask.  This the first time I have posted anything.
